Biografia
Shehan Karunatilaka (nascido em 1975 em Colombo) é um escritor do Sri Lanka, estudou na Nova Zelândia e morou e trabalhou em Londres, Amsterdão e Singapura.
Reconhecido pelo seu romance de estreia de 2010, Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew, que ganhou o Prémio Commonwealth, o Prémio DSC, o Prémio Gratiaen e foi considerado o segundo maior livro de críquete de todos os tempos. por Wisden. O seu romance The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida (Sort of Books, 2022) foi anunciado como vencedor do Booker Prize 2022 a 17 de outubro de 2022.
