Examines some of the earliest texts associated with the Daoist tradition (primarily the "Daode jing", "Zhuangzi", and "Huainanzi") from the outlook of the comparative history of religions and finds a kind of thematic and soteriological unity rooted in the mythological symbolism of hundun.
