Ce travail est subdivisé en trois ensembles :
Le premier correspond à une présentation du milieu physique centrafricain : substrat géologique, relief et hydrographie, climat et végétation, relief et érosion, sols et cuirassement, facteurs biodynamiques divers.
Le deuxième décrit les grandes unités morphologiques centrafricaines, D'abord la surface centrafricaine qui constitue la dorsale oubanguienne - elle englobe les plateaux gréseux d'Ouadda et de Gadzi-Carnot.
Ensuite sont présentés les reliefs du Nord-Ouest et du Nord-Est centrafricain avec le piedmont sur socle qui assure la transition à la plaine tchadienne au nord, enfin l'escarpement sud qui surplombe le piedmont de l'Oubangui-Sangha.
La dernière partie traite des principaux problèmes de la géomorphologie centrafricaine, telle l'induration ferrugineuse, l'approche chronologique de la morphogenèse et de l'évolution paléoclimatique du Centrafrique.
Les aplanissements centrafricains sont ensuite replacés dans leur contexte régional en relation avec les divers facteurs d'évolution du milieu.
This book is divided in three parts:
The first one describes the Centrafrican physical environment: geological substratum, relief and hydrology, climate and vegetation, relief and erosion, soils and ferricretes, various biodynamical factors.
The second part is a detailed description of the centrafrican landscape major units: first the Centrafrican planation level which is the Ubanguian surface and which includes the Ouadda and Gadzi-Camot sandstone plateaus; then the northwestern and northeastern reliefs of the Central African Republic are described and the piedmont which constitutes the transition with the Chadian plain towards the north - at last the southern scarp above the Ubangui-Sangha piedmont.
The last part deals with the main problems concerning the Centrafrican geomorphology, like the ferricretes, a tentative chronology of the morphogenesis and the paleoclimatic evolution in Central Africa.
Then the planation levels are located in their regional context, in connexion with the various factors of the environment.
