Foi repórter televisiva e apresentadora de meteorologia, mas também já publicou mais de cem livros de ficção e não ficção destinados a um público mais juvenil.
Adora ficção científica, livros sobre meteorologia e tudo quanto tenha que ver com chocolate.
Reside em Everett, no estado de Washington, com o marido e dois gatos.
