Astride their faithful dragons and in the company of a rock giant and a clever sprite, they find Kurnan; but afraid of the amulet's powers, they keep their distance.

The Malevir, a powerful, vengeful creature, aims to destroy the dragon clans of Dragonwolder. For that purpose, it inhabits the amulet Kurnan has stolen and uses it to torture the young man with nightmares and pain. The Malevir's great powers threaten Kurnan and the dragonriders alike, but Nnylf and Alana's team have one more chance to stop the Malevir from succeeding.
