Building on existing UNCITRAL texts on electronic commerce, and namely on the principles of functional equivalence and of technology neutrality underpinning those texts, the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records aims at legally enabling dematerialisation of transferable documents and instruments.
