The word traveler is used as a loose term encompassing primarily tourists to endemic areas, but also other groups such as business travelers, migrants, military personnel and other non-immune persons who are exposed to malaria. This book is concerned with malaria in non-immune travelers and includes a section on the global epidemiology of malaria.
