First published in 1844, these two volumes present a collection of letters by Thomas Arnold (1795â€"1842), Head of Rugby School and Professor of History at Oxford. The letters in Volume 1 reveal Arnold's early life, his career at Rugby up to 1835, and his ideas for educational reform.
