Sir Harry Hamilton Johnston (1858â€"1927) was an explorer and colonial administrator. This book is his fictionalised account of the life of a slave, based on anecdotes gathered on his travels. A brutal and often gruesome depiction of one man's survival in the face of violence, cannibalism and extreme cruelty.
