One of the oldest English-language cookbooks, compiled originally in the late fourteenth century by the master cooks of Richard II. This 1780 transcription from the manuscript roll then belonging to Gustavus Brander, a trustee of the British Museum, was made and annotated by the antiquary Samuel Pegge (1704â€"96).
