First published in 1908, this two-volume collection was prepared by journalist, critic and Brontë enthusiast Clement King Shorter (1857â€"1926). Building on Elizabeth Gaskell's research, the volumes document through correspondence the remarkable careers of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë. Previously unpublished manuscripts and letters broadened the scope of the work.
