Concealing and revealing knowledge has shaped social, political and religious spheres across Antiquity, Late Antiquity and the Renaissance. Eleven interdisciplinary contributions analyze texts and artifacts to expose how secrecy molded identities, propaganda, literature and rituals through diverse cultural lenses.
