Based on multi-sited ethnographic research centering on Beirut, Master Peace examines the politics of expertise in the application of metropolitan theories of violence in postâ€"civil war Lebanon. Through research, interviews, and UN agencies Kosmatopoulos argues that so-called experts have often misrepresented the violence they are tackling.
