The Anglican clergyman Henry Venn (1725â€"1797), a central figure in the eighteenth-century evangelical revival, was greatly admired for his preaching and his work among the poor. This book, containing a substantial selection of his letters and a biography by his son John, was published in 1834 by his grandson.
