William Martin Leake (1777â€"1860) was a British military officer and classical scholar. First published in 1824, this volume contains Leake's influential reconstruction and descriptions of the ancient sites and classical topography in a region of modern Turkey from the Gulf of Izmit to the Mediterranean.
