Matthew Paris, a monk at St Albans, wrote and illustrated this history of England from the Norman Conquest to 1253. This three-volume edition of the Latin text was first published in 1866â€"9. Volume 2, covering 1189 to 1245, contains unique information obtained from Paris' many contacts, including Henry III.
