Comparing the higher growth rate of the service sector to that of the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, this study focuses on the issues related to this form of economic development. Identifying the causes of tertiary employment-growth, it examines its catalytic role in providing jobs and alleviating poverty in developing countries.
