Competition law plays an important part in the regulation of the economy.
It applies in a significant number of circumstances, for instance: where firms conclude agreements, where they merge or acquire others, where they define their business strategy, where they receive public subsidies . Although they are European, these rules are directly applicable in the national legal orders. Any good lawyer should ensure that he/she is adequately informed about them. The Code provides a good introduction to that legal field by gathering the major instruments adopted by the European institutions.
These instruments have been supplemented with bibliographical notes providing suggestions for further analysis.
