Dinah is a pretty but disturbed girl who has just lost her parents in an automobile accident. She has been sent to a small town, Bizenghast, to live with an aunt. She is slowly slipping from an undiagnosed case of mental illness. The house is haunted, but only Dinah is aware of this.
