Ben is Jess' older brother. He's a keen footballer and popular at school, but he despises the gypsy kids and is horrified by Jess' friendship with Mike. He and Mike have fought in the past and it is only when Mike saves Ben from a very dangerous situation that Ben's attitude begins to soften.
