Asterix In Lusitania

The British version of Asterix´s adventures has always been its own thing. After all, its a matter of localisation, more than translation. Character and place names have always been a riot, and Lusitania doesn´t disappoint. Moreover, they found a way to sidestep what has been dubbed ´´the pirates controversy,´´ and not a pip about it. Still character-wise, and wholly from the original, did you know Hachette´s publisher wanted a certain British comedian featured as a sidekick, or side character? His name is Extraneous. And I had no idea a certain female artist of Portuguese descent was such a big deal in the UK to be featured here, or her name. On the other hand, could the translation be taking the piss?
