Astronomical guides were available in the early nineteenth century, but it was rare to find examples in English since most came from the continent. This two-volume work by the astronomer William Pearson (1767â€"1847) sought to rectify the problem. First published in 1829, Volume 2 focuses on descriptions of useful equipment.
