When the whiskey-drinking, chain-smoking, trumpet-playing, sci-fi-watching Sam Spallucci sets up shop as an investigator of the paranormal at 15a, Dalton Square, Lancaster, he thinks that his greatest challenge in his first week on the job will be trying to build a new desk that has arrived flat-packed and with unintelligible instructions.

During his first seven days, not only is Sam abducted by a cult of Satanic actors, but he also has to babysit a newborn vampire and investigate teenage poltergeist shenanigans at a local high school. Then, to top it all off, he is confronted with a bloodthirsty werewolf who works in a local zoo.
Not your usual first week on a new job, but certainly one you will never forget.
