The Bible says, "All scripture is God breathed", but it also says, "...study to show thyself approved". This is referencing that the scriptures must be interpreted properly by the actual meanings of the written words, the intent of the author, context etc. If we forget about these aspects, deception awaits us. Ultimately, it is God''s Holy Spirit that teaches us all things, but we must use the tools God gives us so that His Truth would be made manifest in us.

It was formulated by men that arguably began formally in the 2nd century church with Tertullian first coining the term "trinity".
