Each major drug class is examined individually (Alcohol, Cannabis, Hallucinogens, Hypnosedatives, Nicotine & tobacco, New Psychoactive Substances, Opioids, Psychostimulants and Volatile inhalants). In each chapter we present information on withdrawal and dependence syndromes, toxicity, the effects upon major organ systems, and psychiatric morbidities.
