Missionary translation becomes especially manifest in bilingual ethnographic descriptions, in (bilingual) catechisms and in the missionaries' lexicographic condensation of bilingual dictionaries. This book presents the study of missionary translation practices which occur within a colonial context of political domination and spiritual conquest.
