Timothy Ferris, considerado pelo Washington Post como o melhor divulgador de ciência da sua geração, é autor de Seeing in the Dark e The Mind’s Sky (ambos incluídos na lista de melhores livros do ano de The New York Times), e ainda de The Whole Shebang (incluído pela revista American Scientist na lista dos cem livros mais importantes do século XX). Membro da American Association for the Advancement of Science, Ferris leccionou em quatro universidades. É Professor Emérito na Universidade da Califórnia, em Berkeley, e antigo editor da revista Rolling Stone.
