The Naval Chronicle, published in 40 volumes between 1799 and 1818, is a key source for British maritime and military history. Volume 2 (1799) includes Nelson's report of the Battle of St Vincent and documents concerning Lord Hood's control of the royalist port of Toulon in 1793.
