Matt Winsford has taken Coombe Cottage on the edge of Dartmoor in order to help his recovery from serious injuries, of which he does not disclose. An amateur artist, he hopes to spend time painting. But with an accidental meeting with a young horse rider and an inmate from the local secure training centre, life doesn't end up quiet for Matt.
